TMB's NEW YEAR Countdown Special!

Friday, December 31, 2010

This year has been one of my most memorable time in my life because it was the time when I realize that I had some of my first experiences about everything...like riding a ship, an airplane, experiencing my first big failure in college, standing out for myself in a talk-fight (I didn't started it) and a lot of things that I think I better keep to myself, hehe =). This year has also been a great one for this blog since it's been more than a year since I first started it and I'm very glad that as time goes by I was able to get more guests and what's more great about it is that I was able to befriend some, exchanging our various thoughts with various topics...mostly everyday-things and anything =), and somehow it really made me feel like I belong to a place.

I'm very thankful to those who even bothers to mail me just to let me know that they like my blog or send some request though I think at most times that I'm just being a selfish brat who just insist my personal likes and thoughts to others, which I kinda think that it's half-bad and half-good. But I can never deny that I had it tough this year, mostly because of some experiences that test my patience and decisions...the feeling of insecurity and loneliness that I felt every now and then, but, in a way, I'm glad that I was able to overcome most of it on my own and I hope in the future I'll be able to do the same.

This coming year, I will have many new year resolutions to be done...I better not mention it all but I'll tell you one thing and that is I hope I can share you guys more music from various artists, soundtracks, instrumentals and my thoughts with it this coming year like I always do...also I'll have a load of wishlist that hopefully I'll get sooner or in the future.

So before to end this year, I want to share you guys this very Scottish-sound like or let's just say a Scottish bagpipe version of a song and a quote by Carl Bard that I think will give you an inspiration for this coming year.

Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.
 HAPPY NEW YEAR!

TMB's Holiday Christmas Special!

Monday, December 27, 2010

How's your Christmas everyone?! I hope everyone had a great time with your family, friends and love ones these days! Though I for one don't literally celebrate this season since it's not really the kind of thing to be celebrated in my religion...I do share that friendly-warm atmosphere with everyone else especially I'm having that week here in Manila.

I've been gone my friends and I guess that goes without saying that I'm been with the flow with the holidays, haha, don't blame with that one okay and another reason also is that my laptop has been wrecked so I had all the week mourning about it and at the same time deciding which brand I would buy new and finally decided on this one, a Samsung Netbook, a lot smaller than my usual lappy but I'll be getting used to it soon besides I love Samsung but still I love my Toshiba lappy since it's been with me for almost three years and I never thought that I would be buying a new one right after in my last year in college, sigh. I still adore it even though it pains me to see it's LDC totally wrecked because of the droplets of water that I didn't notice on my laptop's screen. I'm glad my Mom didn't nag me further about my own recklessness why I didn't take care of it better.

So before I go nuts with talking about my new lap--scratched that, I forgot it's a netbook, here's my Christmas Holiday Special Treat to everyone enjoying these cold season and now awaiting for what seems to be a new beginning that I hope that everyone is waiting to welcome soon.

(I actually got this version from House MD soundtrack,
the one that House played but I forgot what season that is...hehe:)

Merry Christmas Everyone!
and
Happy New Year!

TMB's Christmas Season Special: Once Upon A December

Saturday, December 4, 2010

So it's already Christmas season everyone. I'm actually kinda excited for this month for actually, I've been wanting for this day to come so that I could post today's treat. I really am anticipating it because I really think that this month would be the greatest day to post it, nonetheless, I think you already get what I'm trying to say, don't you? Haha... So for today's post, it's Once Upon A December music box version from the Animated movie, Anastasia...I personally love the movie and the story and mysteries about the Romanov family but let's leave that thought and I hope that you enjoy this post.

It's already the season so I hope everyone is feeling great about it though I don't literally celebrate the occasion, I still enjoy this light atmosphere that goes with it so I hope this year's last month would be another unforgettable memories for each and everyone.

[JOURNAL]: Empty feeling

Thursday, November 25, 2010

I feel empty now. I don't know why but I just feel so lifeless. It's not really the first time but every time I'm all by myself, I can't help but feel empty. Even though my outside world is full of people that I get along and sometimes not-comfortably getting along with, I still feel insecure for most of the times...that in the end I'm just making a facade so that I could peacefully end my day without being questioned by anyone about why...it's maybe just my own precaution because I know that even if I tried explaining myself at some point, I, myself don't know the answer to my own problem or why is it in the first place that I'm thinking and feeling it so.

I guess I've been thinking so deep. I feel unsure whether it's right to post this thoughts here in the blog but to be honest, I just feel somehow relieved knowing that there will be someone who would be reading this post and maybe could give me a good advice.

Sorry for barging you with this random post. Don't worry, I won't miss sharing you guys something that goes along with these mood. I just hope you like it.

Jukebox Hits: Old Songs [Part III]

Wednesday, November 24, 2010

So here we are now in our third part of my Jukebox Hits of Old Songs featuring again one of my most favored guitar artist, Sungha Jung, haha...I feel like every time I post this edition, I'm only featuring him but I guess that doesn't matter anyway because who wouldn't want to listen to a great young artist like him, right? Just agree with me okay.

For tonight's post, I'll be posting the remaining tracks from his album Perfect Blue which I had posted already the other tracks on my previous post of this edition because the next edition, I'll be featuring a new artist which I haven't mentioned here in the blog before, so I just hope I could tease you up with this tidbit news.

Enjoy listening to this post >_<

Fragrance of Cello Part 1/2

Thursday, November 11, 2010

Hello everyone! Now I have this special treat to every Korean Drama-suckers out there because today's post are from various Korean TV Series soundtracks and I for one was enthusiastically happy when I found this album at Shiho's blog. What's more exciting about it is that it's all in Cello version...actually, I'm a sucker at Cello, followed by Violin and Piano but I'm neither able to play any of the three (that's the only frustrating part I guess)...

*I can't remember from where KDrama I've heard some of the other tracks, let me know if you know okay so that I could edit it, anyway I hope you like it :)

Ys Piano Collection

Tuesday, September 21, 2010

I don't really know much about games but I do know that some have really nice sountracks and I happen to actually to download this album collection by accident but after listening to it, I thought 'this collection is nice'...so I want to share it to you guys this nice album.

I pretty much don't know about the background of this album, it has very few infos about it when I google it up but I did find few tidbits about it. Ys or Isu is actually a Japanese computer and console role-playing game series, it started around 1987and up to this year 2010. The game take place to a place that somehow resembles Earth and the adventure of the red-haired swordsman Aldon Christin and his companions. The game actually have been turn into an Anime, the first part which was often referred to as 'Book I' started around 1989-1991 and the second part, 'Book II' was on 1992-1993. I haven't really watch such epic anime but I do appreciate a lot the soundtrack of it. That's all I know I guess so hope you enjoy this treat!

Studio Ghibli | The Cat Returns

Friday, September 17, 2010

Here's another Studio Ghibli treat and for today's movie soundtrack it's The Cat Returns

This is one of my fave movies of among Studio Ghibli 's works, it's somehow the sequel from another Studio Ghibli movie, Whisper of the Heart, but the story here now focuses on a new character, an average high school and his adventure with Baron Humbert von Gikkingen, a cat statue with a soul and the owner of the Cat Bureau (he is that cat statue in Seiji's grandfather's store in Whisper of the Heart). This movie is a charmer, terribly cute and I personally love the character of the Baron since I love cats.  The story goes with Haru, your average high school girl who is shy and quite and unassuming girl and finds her self very unsatisfied with her own life. She actually has a long suppressed ability to communicate with cats. One day, upon saving a black cat from being run over by a vehicle in the street, the next day, she finds herself now being a savior of the Cat's Kingdom prince, which is actually the cat that she just save in the other day. So as her reward, she was been given with so many unexpected gifts and surprises, such as cat nips, mouses, cattails, etc. but the most unexpected thing is that she is now then been chosen to be the bride of the cat prince. What a day for her and now to get out of all this rush, she then seek help from the Cat Bureau where she met the cat statue Baron, the fat white cat Muta and the raven statue Toto. It's like an Alice in Wonderland adventure for her but it's also her struggle now to 'believe in herself'.

This soundtrack album has 30 tracks all in all by Yuji Nomi but I'll just post my recommended ones. If you want to get the full album, you can contact me if you want but for today's post, just enjoy the treat! Good day.

Hi everyone, it's me your TMB's sole author and owner of this blog, Ainie! You might as well notice it I think but I want to formally tell you this now. Japanese Mysteries

Monday, September 13, 2010
Experience Japan like you have never been before.

It sounded so cliche with that advertising line but on the contrary, I'm serious about it since Japan, for me, is a captivating place I'm looking forward of coming to (in the future)...for now experiencing it to it's music would be enough.

Japanese Mysteries is an album by Ron Korb with Hiroki Sakaguchi. It's actually a collection of famous Japanese figure of thoughts that represent the mysteries of the Japanese culture. It's magnificent, eerie, and beautiful with the various oriental instrumental sounds that would ring your ears to listen. So relax and enjoy this experience.

Shin Ji Ho | Music Box

Thursday, September 9, 2010

Now this album caught my attention...why? Obviously because of these words "Music Box". Hehe, I actually have this album for so long now but I've thought that I would post this album soon, at the first birthday of this blog, and I'm glad it's finally out for you guys to listen...it's somehow more appropriate to do so but on the contrary I think I'm just obsessed with it because of the word 'music box'. Tehehe;p

Korean Fantasy

This album actually has less tracks than a normal album must have but I'm sure you'll love it. It sound exactly like how would a music box would be, it's gentle, transparent, and magical. I've pretty much taken a liking with this gentleman. I hope I could keep on having more post about him and his music but for now, let just enjoy this treat.

So I've been getting a lot of mystery artists today and can't keep of knowing more infos about them but I'm glad I can share you guy's their music.

Happy 1st Birthday TMB!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY The Music Box!

So it's finally been a year already.

Hello everyone, as you now know, today marks the first birthday of this blog. One year...it's already a year that I have been sharing music in this blog of mine. I got many thoughts and musics that I want to share to everyone and thanks to this blog that I have that opportunity now.

I know very well that this blog has 'too' many flaws in it, like the way I often change the design, why some of my medias doesn't work and why I'm not that often updated not to mention my mediocre way of expressing my ideas and thoughts but nonetheless I think I did a good job (I think) and coming this far...The very first time I made this blog was just out the whim, I was still not literate enough with the world of blogging that's why for the first four months since I established it, I was just rarely posting something not until early this year that I become more active of it. I understand that I'm kinda acting recklessly out of my own interest every now and then but I realized that this blog has shown me many great things and that somehow it made me grow.

The Music Box has given me more than it has given you music to listen, it gave me opportunities that I never thought I would encounter, like gaining new friends and being of help to other people who wants to share their own music to the world. It was my first intention to just share the music that I love and my thoughts with it but today maybe it has become even more of that. Music in general is a vast world to explore to and besides everyone has their own personal preference of the music they like but my love for instrumentals music is something I can't compare with the other genres because to me the plain sound of each instrument expresses more meaning than hearing the actual lyrics of a song, it was enough for me to interpret the feelings that the melodies have rather than understanding the words behind each lyrics. Watching TV & Anime series, Asian dramas and Movies as well reading Manga and books were my great source of ideas for making this blog including my discoveries with various artists of New Age that I become more well informed with their works and music and also the never fading sound of Classical music by the infamous artists of the past, all these are nonetheless the things that I want to share to each and everyone of you.

To those who have encourage and help me in improving this blog, you have my gratitude; to Shiho's site, New Age Paradise, to Alex, All Music for Soul, thanks for sharing your great music with me; also to my acquainted friends & visitors who had always been my inspiration, you guys are the best! Hehehe, I think I've been saying a lot of corny things in these post but already anyway Thanks! I don't know if this blog will reach another year like this but let's just see for that to come.

I hope you have enjoyed my goodwill service of partaking the music that I love. From here on, I hope that you keep on supporting this blog.

Stay in tune always with The Music Box!

Random Songs of Hikaru Utada

Sunday, August 29, 2010

Hello my dear visitors and friends! How is everyone, I hope everyone is doing well and not that really busy because I'm sure am busy here on my side thanks to school works, my thesis, and my preparation for next month's OJT (where I'll be living at the other side of my country for more than a month) so I might be gone for a while but I promise that I will not leave this blog empty for next month because I'm preparing already some scheduled post to fill in my absence. But I wish I'll hear something from you guys because next month is actually a special occasion for this blog, you might as well have guessed it but still, your messages and  comments are great source of encouragement for me.

So for tonights treat, I give you some random song instrumentals of Hikaru Utada. Have you heard of her? She is actually quite popular in States and Europe. An American- Japanese singer, song writer and producer. She's one of my favorite Japanese singers ever since high school. I feel in love with her 'First Love' the very first time I've heard it, the lyrics of the song was truly emotional and the instrumentals is sure bliss that's why I'm very glad when I accidentally found some instrumental versions of her songs especially First Love. I'll stop my talking here so I hope you enjoy this post! Good night =)

Ji Ye An | Minor Island

Friday, August 27, 2010

Now it's Ji Ye An's Minor Island. This is my first post about her and her music and honestly I'm totally at lost about any more details about her. I've tried goggling her at the internet but nothing pops any information about her...she's kinda more a mysterious artist for me but I promise to let you know if I ever found something about her.

It's actually a volume one album, so you'll soon expect the second part of it sometime. So for now, enjoy this post! =)

Heartwarming Sounds [Part III]

Saturday, August 21, 2010

It's heartwarming sound again everyone! So today's treat is a soundtrack from a really adorable cute Korean movie that I watch a long time ago.

It's My Little Bride instrumental soundtrack. This romantic comedy movie is really a cute one. Because of the promise made by the girl's grandfather and the boy's grandfather 'that they will marry their children together' but because of their children's were both boys, that promise has been past down to their grandchildren and now the girl has to marry the brother she had always thought to-be and that is actually almost a decade older than her and the what's more troubling thing is that her husband is her school's new teacher. It's a hilarious film between an arranged marriage of a ordinary teen-age school girl and her new school teacher and their struggles as they hid that they are actually married. It's really a cute movie and I was awing a lot when I first watch it. I hope you watch it soon, hehe;p

Studio Ghibli | My Neighbor Totoro

Thursday, August 19, 2010

So I decided to put a whole album sample for Studio Ghibli's works and of course I'm ecstatic with the whole idea since I got almost all of their albums, yahoo for me, hehe...so anyway for my first Studio Ghibli Soundtracks to share, I give you My Neighbor Totoro!

My Neighbor Totoro is an 1988 film written and directed by none other than Hayao Miyazaki and produced by Studio Ghibli. It's actually a story about a two girls and their father who moved home near to where their mother is hospitalized. After their settlement, the younger sister played and saw two rabbit-like creatures, she then followed it in the forest until she met the large version of that rabbit-like being...she then named it Totoro which she wants to mean as 'troll' only she mispronounced it and later been found out that he is the Keeper of the Forest, sort like the Spirit of the forest. It follows the adventure of the two girls and their newly found spirit friends. At first, I thought the movie was strangely weird and beautiful. This animation movie sure brings back a child's imagination. When I first watch this film, it made me feel like I was a kid again...the whole imaginary concept of the movie was truly wonderful and great, it's a like a true kid's mind wrote the story itself. Totoro, the forest spirit is really an adorable character...I suddenly remembered when I watch Toy Story 3 that I saw Totoro in one of the little girl's stuff toys...it really made me say 'awe' out-loud until I realized that I was the only one reacting to it at the cinema, I would totally choose Totoro over the Care Bear stuff toys if you'd ask me...hahaha:D It's truly an exciting and childhood reminiscing movie. You just can't help but love this movie.

The soundtracks is a work by Joe Hisaishi, I hope you wouldn't have any question about him since I already said something about this great man before in my previous post. An any rate, ENJOY THIS TREAT!
